Importing from China is Easy

What is Importing?

You can shop, right? You take for granted the skills you have and use without thinking when you buy from the local store. Now let us move to you buying from a shop overseas and getting it shipped into your country. So now you are an importer. It is quite a simple process, easy for someone who has done it before, but you will need the gen on what you need to do and how to do it. A little knowledge makes life a lot easier, don’t you agree?

A Trustworthy Reliable Supplier

The early steps are to locate a valid and reliable supplier. You need to be able to qualify the supplier as valid and trustworthy, and just always be aware that situations change and even the best companies do go into liquidation or receivership. It is simply, as with all activities in life, being prudent and covering your risks with insurance or a progressive credit and trust.

Safety and Standard Approvals

Shipping and reliability need to be agreed. Be sure to consider safety aspects, for example electronic goods need approval of standards authorities and children toys must meet local requirements. Warranty of product is also a very important consideration. Not all goods fall require this specialist approval. However product without warranty or the appropriate approvals could leave you holding the baby.

Import Duty

There are various import regulations and some goods a dutiable, that is you have to pay an import tax according to the classification of the item. But do not consider all this overly complex. Once you have followed the process you will find it plain sailing from there, perhaps no more complex than shopping locally and getting it delivered.

Why is importing from China such a huge opportunity? It all comes down to cost of production, and the mass of goods produced in China have much lower cost inputs than the same production in many local markets.

Do not just leave it to the big companies, with on-line access, virtually no overheads (if working from home) or limited overheads you can become an importer. But of course you need to distribute product to customers, unless you are just importing for your own requirements for family and friends or yourself.

Best of wishes for every success, but you do need to get started.
